Safe Haven 101

Many of you ask, “What is Safe Haven Church all about?”  and “What can I expect when I visit Safe Haven Church?” So…we thought we would do our best to share with you what Safe Haven is all about, and what you can expect to experience at Safe Haven Church. Introducing Safe Haven 101, enjoy!

What Safe Haven is not…

Everything we do at Safe Haven is based on scripture. We model ourselves after Jesus, since he was the Master at communication, and sharing God’s love, and grace to everyone. Jesus is the perfect example on how to live a full life for God. Safe Haven Church is a place where you can feel comfortable exploring the truths of God’s Word, and growing together as a community of people who love Jesus, and that want to love others just as Jesus loved others. We are not Christian genius’ and we don’t pretend to be experts. We are a loving congregation, with open hearts, and open minds to embrace all that God has planned for us, and called us to do as we grow together in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

What We Believe…

About the Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.

About God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.

About Humanity
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

About Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

About the Christian Life
We believe all Christians should live for Christ, and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God, and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature, and be conformed to the image of Christ.

About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him, and by making him known to the lost world.

The Holy Spirit

What is our Mission…

Our Purpose…

to guide people to Christ,

and help them grow.

SafeHaven exists to share the grace, truth, love, and community found in Jesus Christ, and those who follow Him.

( Matthew 28:19-20, Matthew 5:14-15, John 3:16 )

Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 5:14 . says that we are the light and that we shouldn’t hide our light  And of course John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Our Design…

         a church for everyone where

No One Stands Alone.”

Whether you are searching for the first time or you’ve lost count…Your welcome to join us as we seek God together.

 ( Luke 19:10, John 13:34-35, Romans 5:8, Matthew 11:28-30 )

Our Values…

offering Grace.. sharing Truth..

giving Love.. living in Community..

SafeHaven Church is a faith community committed to living out the attributes found in scripture attributed to Jesus Christ.

Our values and the way we will fulfill our purpose is by…

Offering Grace

We will love and welcome everyone “as is”, just as Jesus did.

(Ephesians 4:2-32, Romans 8:1)

In Ephesians 4,  Paul is instructing the Ephesian people to be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

And in Romans he tells the church in Romans 1 – Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Sharing Truth

We will share stories, principles, and truths from the scriptures to encourage, and reveal a better way forward, just as Jesus did.

(Ephesians 4:15, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 28:20)

Ephesians 4:15 – Paul instructs the Ephesians  – Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Giving Love

We will strive to live and grow in love,  just as Jesus did.

(Matthew 22:37-40, 1 John 3:16-18, Matthew 25:35-40, Proverbs 19:17)

In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus teaches us how important it is to love:

37 Jesus replied: “‘love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Living in Community

We will live in a culture of extended family embracing one another, and reaching out to our surrounding community with care and service, just as Jesus did.

(Micah 6:8, Acts 2:44-46, Hebrews 10:24-25, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

In Micah 6:8, the Old Testiment prophet makes it clear what is important to God.

8But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
take God seriously.

Our purpose and values are all based on Christ’s teaching in scripture our values come from the example of the story of the woman at the well.
